In connection with the decision of the Commission of the European Communities dated 29 November 2006 on imposition of a fine in the amount of EUR 17.550.000 for an alleged breach of applicable competition law rules imposed, jointly and severally, to UNIPETROL, a.s. and KAUČUK, a.s., the Board of Directors of UNIPETROL, a.s. approved entering into the Agreement on Procedure relating to Antimonopoly Fine with  KAUČUK, a.s., according to which UNIPETROL, a.s. undertakes, under the terms and conditions stipulated in the agreement, to pay the respective fine in the amount of 50% of the fine provided that the remaining 50% of the fine will be paid, under the terms and conditions stipulated in the agreement, by KAUČUK, a.s.

The Agreement on Procedure Relating to Antimonopoly Fine was entered into by and between UNIPETROL, a.s. and KAUČUK, a.s. on  29 January 2007.

Please note that the payment of the fine imposed by the Commission of the European Communities does not represent in any aspect the  the lawfulness of imposition of the fine. UNIPETROL, a.s. considers taking a legal action on annulment ofe decision of the Commission of the European Communities on imposition of the fine and protection against such decision by all available legal means.
