Wojciech Heydel elected new Chairman of UNIPETROL's Supervisory Board

At its meeting today, the UNIPETROL, a.s. Supervisory Board appointed Wojciech Heydel substitute Supervisory Board Member until the nearest UNIPETROL, a.s. General Meeting. Supervisory Board dismissed Piotr Kownacki, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, from his office, he still remains the Supervisory Board member. Wojciech Heydel was subsequently elected the Chairman of the Supervisory Board. The UNIPETROL, a.s. Supervisory Board took due note of Rafał Kapler's resignation from his office of Member of the UNIPETROL, a.s. Supervisory Board.

On 28 February 2008 PKN ORLEN's Supervisory Board authorized Wojciech Heydel to act as the Chairman of the company's Board of Directors. Since November 2004 Wojciech Heydel (44) served as the Vice-Chairman of PKN ORLEN's Board of Directors, responsible for sales, overseeing wholesale operations, retail sales, marketing, public relations, planning, strategy and development. His competencies within PKN ORLEN, S.A. also include areas such as logistics, alternative energy resources, human resources and audit.

Before joining PKN ORLEN, S.A., Wojciech Heydel worked in various positions in British Petroleum (BP). In 1990, he established BP's Polish subsidiary. In 2003 and 2004, he served as Chairman of the Board of Directors of BP in Poland. From 2001 to 2003, he was responsible for fuel supplies to Eastern Europe at BP. He spent 2000 and 2001 working for BP directly in London and between 1995 and 1997 served on the Board of Directors of BP in Poland.

Wojciech Heydel graduated from Silesian University of Technology. He then continued to study at University of Michigan, US.
