Within the framework of Help Nature Project that constitutes part of activities performed in pursuance of Corporate social responsibility, employees of Česká rafinérská worked off – in late May and early June 2011 – one voluntary shift in one of the two non-profit organizations run in the Most region and in Veltrusy near Kralupy nad Vltavou.Litvínov 29, June 2011 - Within the framework of Help Nature Project that constitutes part of activities performed in pursuance of Corporate social responsibility, employees of ČESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s., Litvínov (hereinafter only: Česká rafinérská) worked off – in late May and early June 2011 – one voluntary shift in one of the two non-profit organizations run in the Most region and in Veltrusy near Kralupy nad Vltavou.
This year´s already fifth in succession Voluntary Day arranged by Česká rafinérská was aimed at work carried out in nature, and at improving the living environment surrounding us. The Company staff engaged in a spring cleanup of the nature in the Ore Mountain ridges. In the area of Lesná, they would do away with aftereffects of the past winter - by clearing away fallen trees, collecting waste, raking leaves and bent-grass, and clearing away windbreaks from tourist paths (which was a task for the more able-bodied). In the Veltrusy Manor park which continues to be battling with aftereffects of the 2002 floods, Česká raifnérská´s employees helped with whittling away and roguing seeded shrubs, bringing down stinging nettles, pruning a linden alley, burning woody mass residues from chopped down trees destined for liquidation, and engaging in other activities associated with the park maintenance.
Altogether a staff of 51 took part in Voluntary Day 2011 scheme. Apart from the feeling of having done a good job in a wonderful natural environment, they would leave enriched with lots of thrills. Such type of corporate volunteering, consisting in the Company´s staff providing voluntary aid to specific non-profit organizations operating in the vicinity of the two production plants, with all costs associated therewith are borne by the employer, has stood the test of time in Česká rafinérská, and has enriched the range of charity activities that are – with the support of Company management and staff – being materialized in the two regions concerned.
From the words of representatives of the two organizations it ensues that the work delivered by employees of deserves praise and a huge Thank you, particularly for helping out where aid is really needed.
