Severe frosts can cause problems with vehicle operation. ORLEN, the largest network of gas stations in the Czech Republic, offers motorists a solution in the form of exceptional quality winter diesel fuel, which minimizes the risk of fuel system clogging and enables reliable starting even in extreme conditions. During February, it will offer Verva Diesel at the price of Efecta Diesel at nearly 420 stations.
In accordance with the ČSN EN 590 standard, winter fuels are available in the ORLEN network from December 1 to February 28. This year, the availability of winter fuels is complemented by a discount on premium diesel. Drivers can select either additive-enhanced Efecta Diesel, which possesses cleaning properties, or premium Verva Diesel. In addition to maintaining the fuel system, Verva Diesel delivers enhanced performance parameters, including low-temperature properties.
"Severe frosts have the potential to cause issues with vehicle operation, particularly when transitional fuels are used. Our winter diesel guarantees that fuel will not gel and ensures reliable ignition even at temperatures far below zero," says Rostislav Moravec, director of the ORLEN filling station network, adding: "Verva Diesel has long been regarded as one of the best premium fuels on the market, and during February, customers can fill up every Tuesday at the price of Efecta Diesel. Those who pay with the Easy Tank Card will also receive a discount of up to CZK 1 per litre.”
Premium Verva Diesel is the ideal choice for individuals who want maximum performance and reliability for their car, even at temperatures well below zero. Verva Diesel's cetane number of up to 60 units ensures optimal cold starts, smooth engine operation, and a positive impact on fuel consumption. A crucial parameter for the winter season is filterability, and Verva Diesel achieves a value of at least −26 °C, significantly exceeding the ČSN EN 590 (−20 °C) standard requirement. Thanks to the special additives in the fuel, paraffin crystals remain small and do not settle at the bottom of the tank. Verva Diesel is available at nearly 420 ORLEN filling stations.
ORLEN has also been offering HVO100 Diesel for over a year. HVO100 is a 100% renewable fuel made from hydrogenated vegetable oils and waste fats. HVO100 reduces CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared to fossil diesel, complies with the ČSN EN 15940 standard, and is fully compatible with modern diesel engines. With a cetane number of over 70 units, it provides excellent cold starts, smooth engine running, and top performance even in extreme frost (filterability down to −40 °C). The fuel is currently available at selected ORLEN stations located on key transit routes across the Czech Republic, with plans to expand its availability further in 2026.
ORLEN guarantees reliable operation, even in low temperature conditions, while also providing an eco-friendly option that does not compromise on quality.
