Customers of the ORLEN filling station network have once again turned their loyalty points in the ORLEN app into real help. Through the ‘Donate Your Points’ project, they supported the Veronika Kašáková Endowment Fund, which helps children and young people from children’s homes and vulnerable families. The fundraising campaign ran from the end of January to the end of April and raised 401,700 CZK. A symbolic cheque was presented during a gala evening marking the 10th anniversary of the Veronika Kašáková Foundation. The fundraising campaign also kicked off this year’s support from the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation for children’s homes, which will be followed by further activities focused on supporting specific facilities and volunteering.

Customers can get involved directly via the ORLEN app, simply by donating their accumulated loyalty points. They earn these points for their purchases and can normally use them for rewards; however, as part of the ‘Donate Your Points’ project, they can donate them to support selected charitable projects. The ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation then converts these into financial support for the selected charitable projects. In this year’s first fundraising campaign, the focus was on young people who are growing up outside their own families and preparing for independent life. It is precisely at this stage that they often need not only material support, but also reassurance, expert guidance and someone they can turn to.

“Through a survey in the ORLEN app, we found that the topic of children resonates strongly with our customers. That is why we decided this year to focus this programme specifically on children in children’s homes. Even before selecting specific facilities, we wanted to help those who are losing the security of a family background and support and are entering a new, often challenging stage of life in which they must rely on themselves,” says   Agnieszka Bobrukiewicz, a member of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group’s Board of Directors responsible for retail in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Austria, and Executive Director for the non-fuel segment at the ORLEN Group, adding: “We are pleased that the Veronika Kašáková Foundation is dedicated to this particular group. The changes these young people are going through are challenging, and having someone to help and support them at such a time is truly important. Through our collaboration so far, we have had the opportunity to see the dedication and big hearts with which the foundation’s team works. This makes us all the more pleased with this partnership, and we believe it will continue in the future.”

Users of the ORLEN app were able to contribute to the collection from the end of January until 30 April this year. For every 2,500 points donated, 20 crowns were transferred via the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation to support the Veronika Kašáková Foundation. A total of 401,700 crowns was raised. “We would like to thank all customers who decided to donate their points. Every contribution helps young people from children’s homes to better cope with the transition to independent living. For the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation, this fundraising campaign also marks the start of this year’s broader support for children’s homes, which we intend to follow up with further activities and volunteering,” said Lucie Pražáková, Director of the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation.

Help that doesn’t end with the presentation of a cheque

Since 2016, the Veronika Kašáková Endowment Fund has been dedicated to children and young people from children’s homes and vulnerable families. It helps them with education, talent development, therapies, financial support and preparation for independent living. The financial donation from ORLEN and the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation was presented during a gala evening marking the 10th anniversary of the foundation’s establishment. According to the foundation, it is precisely the link between the digital app and helping others that gives this support an extraordinary dimension.

“We would like to thank not only ORLEN and the ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation, but also and above all the people who decided to help via the app. Every point they donated has been transformed into concrete support for young people from children’s homes on their journey towards independent living. We greatly appreciate this trust and partnership, which shows that even a small gesture can have a big impact,” said Veronika Kašáková, founder of the Foundation.

The ‘Donate Your Points’ project shows that the ORLEN loyalty app can offer customers not only benefits, but also a simple way to get involved in helping where it is needed. The ORLEN Unipetrol Foundation aims to follow up on this year’s first fundraising campaign with further support for specific children’s homes and employee volunteering activities.

ORLEN – the international network of fuels, energy and refreshments

The ORLEN network of filling stations is a member of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group owned by the international ORLEN Group, which runs more than 3,500 fuel stations in seven Central European countries – Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, Austria, and Slovakia. In Czechia, the ORLEN network comprises 443 stations with a 28.6% market share in the volume of fuels sold. The ORLEN network is a market leader in terms of both the number of sites and the volume of fuels sold. The popularity of the ORLEN brand with Czech consumers is reflected by the fact that the ORLEN network of filling stations has been awarded as the Most Trustworthy Brand in Czechia six times and as the Merchant of the Year three times.

At its stations, ORLEN offers premium Efecta fuel with a proven purifying effect and top-class Verva fuel that cares for the engine system and offers enhanced performance parameters. ORLEN sites also provide alternative fuels, including liquified petroleum gas (LPG), compressed natural gas (CNG), synthetic fuel HVO100, and battery- and hydrogen-driven e-mobility. ORLEN offers electricity at 294 charging points and operates hydrogen refuelling stations in Prague- Barrandov and Litvínov-Záluží.

The Stop Cafe concept is a significant part of the offering, being a crucial pillar in ORLEN brand’s convenience sales. In the Czech Republic, Stop Cafe is available at 363 out of 443 filling stations, i.e., at more than 80% of them. It is offered at nearly 2,500 sites within the entire international network. Stop Cafe offers a broad range of meals and food products – from popular hotdogs and coffee to more than 1,000 products, including packaged food, ready-to-serve meals, and specialities in traditional, vegetarian, and vegan versions. The offer keeps developing – the ORLEN competence centre in Prague is working on new product ranges focused on a healthy lifestyle, including breakfasts, bakery products, ready-to-serve meals, and private brand products that will react to the current trends and customer needs.

ORLEN also issues its own fuel cards, EASY and BUSINESS, and runs two mobile apps – the loyalty ORLEN app and a car care app, Mycí digi linka.
