The network of ORLEN filling stations, a leader in the Czech market, plans to intensify the implementation of the alternative energy infrastructure. Sixty-six service stations currently offer 267 e-charging points and two hydrogen filling sites for passenger cars, buses, and trucks. The network is starting to build its own infrastructure of ultra-speed e-charging sites and continues the project of three hydrogen filling stations in Prague, Brno, and Ostrava. It plans to run 1,800 high-speed e-charging points and more than 20 hydrogen filling stations by 2030.
“We’ve been through a special year full of many changes and significant milestones. We have renamed over 300 filling stations, which means that some 80% of the network has already been rebranded to ORLEN. Our ORLEN mobile app welcomed the half millionth client; we have radically increased our market share in terms of fuels sold, and got ready for the E10 petrol to be offered from the new year,” Vladimír Dočekal, director of the ORLEN network of filling station, summed up the past year.
The network of ORLEN filling stations includes 434 sites in Czechia. It is No. 1 in the market by the number of outlets and the volume of fuels sold (a 25.7% share). “We want to continue increasing our market share by providing top-quality fuels and refreshments at affordable prices and expanding the network through major or minor acquisitions. We are ready to discuss this option with anybody. Still, any investments in the acquisitions must make economic sense to us,” Vladimír Dočekal explained.
In Czechia, ORLEN offers Efecta fuels with provable purifying effects and premium Verva fuels that care for the motor system with improved performance parameters. Starting from the new year, the entire network will offer the EFECTA 95 petrol, designated as E10, which has a bio component share of less than 10%. “This environmentally friendly measure meets the EU legislation on reducing CO2 emissions. The E10 petrol is suitable for a clear majority of current vehicles. Drivers with cars or motorcycles manufactured in the previous century can fairly pump the premium Verva 100 fuel at our sites,“ Vladimír Dočekal reassured.
ORLEN is intensively involved in building its infrastructure for alternative drives and energy. “Although traditional fuels will still dominate over the next ten to 15 years, we are also developing an infrastructure for electric vehicles. We have opened two hydrogen stations in Prague and Litvínov. Sixty-six outlets have 93 charging stations with 267 e-charging points, which makes us a market leader in both cases. For us, building this landscape means a necessary investment in remaining competitive in the future,” added Vladimír Dočekal.
ORLEN plans to continue expanding the e-mobility infrastructure next year. In addition to the existing charging stations from external partners, it intends to build its own high-speed charging network. “We want to install 900 high-speed chargers with 1,800 high-speed charging points by 2030. We are also working on other projects for hydrogen filling stations to have more than 20 of them by 2030. We also plan to upgrade our Stop Café concept that still meets even the most challenging requirements yet needs some innovations as time flies,” Vladimír Dočekal outlined the plans of the ORLEN network.
The network of ORLEN filling stations is part of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group, which is owned by the international ORLEN Group. The ORLEN Group operates over 3,000 filling stations in six countries – Poland, Czechia, Germany, Lithuania, Hungary and Slovakia. It will take over 266 Turmöl sites in Austria in 2024.
The network of ORLEN filling stations is part of the ORLEN Unipetrol Group, a member of the international ORLEN Group. It operates the largest chain of filling stations in the Czech Republic. In addition to Efecta fuels with a purifying effect, ORLEN offers top-quality Verva fuels that also provide maximum performance parameters. The ORLEN network of filling stations also offers alternative drives, including liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and compressed natural gas (CNG). ORLEN also has the largest network of charging points for electric vehicles. It operates two hydrogen filling stations in Prague-Barrandov and in Litvínov. ORLEN also offers a broad refreshment portfolio within its Stop Café concept. The network issues its EASY and BUSINESS fuel cards and offers customers two mobile applications – the ORLEN loyalty app and the car care application, Mycí digi linka. In total, ORLEN operates 434 filling stations in the Czech Republic and has a market share of 25.7%. Consumer confidence was confirmed by the network of ORLEN filling stations being six times awarded the title of the Most Trusted Brand in the Czech Republic.
